Hi there! I am Antonis . I was born in Rethymno, a town on the island of Crete, Greece. I studied physics in the University of Crete at Heraklion city, and then obtained an MSc in Materials Science and Technology, during which I was a member of the Theoretical and Computational Materials Science group.

In November 2018, I moved to Dresden to join the Max Planck Institute for the physics of complex systems and the computational materials science group in the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology of TU Dresden. I worked on calculations for 2D-COFs (two-dimensional Covalent Organic Frameworks). I used DFT and DFTB for the electronic structure calculations and MD with Meta-Dynamics for the proton tautomerization. Python and shell scripting is part of the daily life of a "simulant" (the person who works on simulations). In  December 2021 , I was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Science and Engineering for the work that I carried during my time in the group.

I thoroughly enjoy working on Data Science projects. For that reason, I explore datasets from websites, such as kaggle, and analyse them with models grounded on machine learning techniques. This allows me to find patterns and make predictions  based on the  questions that I need to address.
